A Christmas Story

Nov 30 to Dec 7, 2008

We are pleased to announce that this year’s Christmas production will be “A Christmas Story”. Through the combined efforts of Jean Shepherd, The Ted Turner Organization, and Dramatic Publishing, playwright Philip Grecian has brought this classic to the live stage.
Show dates are November 30 to December 7, 2008.
We are looking for a Director and Producer. If interested, please submit an application to the PCT Board of Directors ASAP.

Stage Stunt Survival

St. Mary's Community Players is hosting a Stage Stunt Survival Workshop led by K. Reed Needles

Time: 10 am to 4 pm, with lunch break
Max. number of participants: 20, on a first come basis

K. Reed Needles (on the right in photo below) is an actor and educator as well as a qualified fight choreographer and founding member of Fight Directors Canada. He has been part of the University of Toronto fencing team. He has worked with all ages, and has done fight choreography for the Canadian Opera Company, the Stratford Festival and the Grand Theatre in London, as well as numerous other companies. His workshop will include armed and unarmed combat.
It is intended to be a hands-on experience, so come prepared and dressed for a very active day.

Set Painting Workshop

Galt Little Theatre (Cambridge, ON) is hosting a 3-hour workshop on set painting taught by Jane Coryell.
Saturday, July 19 10am - 1pm (Bring snacks to munch on as we throw paint around in a big way!)

Learn how to do the unusual techniques of the 2-tone roller wap-wap; the 2-brush slap-slap; the two-sponge tap-tap tissue painting spritzing. Learn the usual techniques of marble faux finish; faux wood grain; quick ‘n’ dirty ways to do faux brick and stone.
Learn why we paint wood to look like wood. Learn why we ‘build it up’ and then ‘break it down’.
Wear really grubby clothes and shoes. Bring rubber gloves if you like to keep your hands reasonably clean. Bring a notebook and pen / pencil if you want to record the techniques. Bring a camera, too! Be prepared to have a heckuvalotta fun. This workshop will double your appreciation for other people’s scenery and productions.

THIS IS AN ADULT PLAY with some language and provocative content... seeking 2-3 women, ages 18-40 and 3-4 men ages 18-60.

THIS PLAY IS QUICK AND FUNNY!!!!!! Bring your sense of humour to the auditions, please!!!

A Tale of Two Cities

Grant Patterson is producing “A Tale of Two Cities” in October at the Chatham Kiwanis Theatre (700 seats). Anyone interested in acting or an associated position should call Grant at 519-962-4786.

Oil Baron's Ball

Special performance for oil celebration in Oil Springs.

A number of actors will be needed to impersonate historical characters from the days of oil.
